This website is dedicated to my
1987 Buick Turbo Regal. I purchased the car back in
July of 1998 and I have been improving and modifying it ever
since. It is powered by the venerable Buick LC2, which
is a 3.8 liter turbocharged V6. It does have
several performance modifications, all of which have been
carefully planned and thought out with the help of the great
info on the web.
These cars still
command a great deal of respect on the street. Of course, there
are still some who just don't understand how a V6 can produce
such brutal performance. There is no other car I know of that can go
so fast for so little investment.
I get a lot of comments about this
car. Many people ask if it is a Grand National, which it
is not. Turbo Regals, whether a GN or not, all have the
same drivetrain. Actually, my car should have been a tad
faster than a GN factory stock since it is not optioned out,
hence it is several pounds lighter than a GN. I get
stopped all the time in parking lots by admiring people ...
something that never happened with any other car I have
owned. That alone speaks volumes.
The car is driven regularly and
is not a garage queen. I do not drive it in winter, but
it gets very regular use in the summer time, as it
should. Cars were meant to be driven and this is my
street machine.
This site contains many
pictures of my car as well as other Turbo Regal related
subject matter. Please choose a category to the left to

The
Buick recently entered the annual Springfest car show put on
by Black Hawk County Street machines. I took second place
in Street machines 1983 to present class. You can see some
pictures from the show here.

The rear main seal has finally been
replaced with a neoprene seal. The old rope seal just
wasn't cutting it anymore. For good instructions, visit
this link.

The
MAF sensor finally failed, so I am installing a MAF Translator
and an LT1 sensor. GM has discontinued the stock Buick
sensor, so this was the best route to go . It flows
better than the Buick unit, so you can't beat that.

The Buick is now in winter storage after another summer of
virtually trouble free driving. The TE-44
is currently
out and is undergoing a rebuild to repair an oil seal.
Next in line is the leaky oil pan gasket.

Exhaust
Pros installs my Hooker cat back exhaust system. I am
very happy with the results and the system doesn't have any
exhaust drone at cruise, which is great.

The
Buick garners a first place finish in the SpringFest 2001 car
show ...

The
car received another gauge today in
the form of a Casper's Electronics knock gauge...

Steve's
Regal Visits Mechtronics and makes use of their DynoJet
chassis dynamometer. The results? 342 flywheel
horsepower on only
15 psi of boost with just a Thrasher 92 street chip.
This is how the car is driven every day, so it is a true test
of real street performance The car was admittedly
untuned and it was a very hot day, so once I get a handle on
it with TurboLink, beware...
